STAR OF MY OWN SHOW--EXPLORING SELF PORTRAITURE
Who are you, really? Who have you been? Who would you like to be? Do you hate the way you look now, as a teenager, in the future—as you get older and wider and more wrinkly? By playing with images of yourself, old and current, or of a cherished heroine or family member, the images becomes divested of the baggage of Expectations and Comparisons, and becomes a design element to look at in different contexts, both real and fantastical. It also helps to know that Everyone hates the way they look….but could learn to love it enough to get by when these feelings are shared. A theater of Unfulfilled Dreams and Great Expectations, Giving birth to My Self, Learning to Love Me More. Light-heartedly explore all the various Possibilities and Permutations of YOU, with a series of exercises, experiments, and games that will lead to at least one finished paper and cloth self-portrait.
