DANCING ON THE EDGE-INCORPORATING FOUND OBJECTS INTO SOFT SCULPTURE
Bring one thing that you would like to incorporate into your own sculpture, one useful item you can pass along. We’ll tell stories from the point of view of the next person’s object, transform people into animals, and objects into people. What is one of the most difficult aspects of designing a doll? Becoming inspired. What is one of the easiest ways to become inspired? Start with a Found Object! Let your intuition be your guide in choosing an object with an interesting color, texture, shape, personal, or historical association.
Don’t limit the other materials you bring to complete your Art Doll—paper or fabric, sticks wrapped together with colorful yarns, clay, polymer clay, a find from a junque or hardware store-—the world is open and full of possible ingredients for your Art Doll. It can even live in an environment you create. Pamela will bring her vast repertoire of construction techniques to help you with the process.
